Harold George Addyman — sometimes recorded simply as Harold Addyman — served as a Craftsman (Cfn) in the Light Repair Section of the LRDG, having come to the Group from the West Yorkshire Regiment and the 3rd King’s Own Hussars. The Light Repair Section’s mechanics were among the unsung heroes of the LRDG, repairing broken axles, radiator leaks and engine failures hundreds of miles behind enemy lines to keep the patrols moving.
