Deeper background (2026): the Imperial War Museums holds a recorded interview with him, made in 2001 by Windfall Films (catalogue no. 26172, five items, about 150 minutes), in which he describes serving as an NCO and gunner with Y Patrol in North Africa and Greece, 1940–43.
