Data note (2026): this man was recorded twice on the source rolls — as “Gdsm Jack Astell (7264520), G1 Patrol” and as “Pte Jack Astle, G1.” Both describe the same soldier, a medical orderly captured in the Barce raid on 14 September 1942; the two entries have been merged here (Astell/Astle being a spelling variant of the same name).
