One of the two is wrong, and the error is in the source or in the reading of it, so nothing on this roll can settle which. It has been left on both cards rather than guessed at. NEITHER MAN DEPENDS ON IT: this card also carries SR599017, which identifies him. Settling it needs the Rhodesia Nominal Roll consulted directly.

This merge bears on one of the unresolved Rhodesian shared-number cases: RH6857982 is shared with Berry, and that case should be re-read now that G.J. and J.G. are established as one man.
