A caution on the service number, unresolved: The London Gazette records 222644 twice as belonging to Lieutenant Charles Francis Cole (supplement to issue 35433, p. 438, 23 January 1942; supplement to issue 37886, p. 847, 18 February 1947), and holds no Bennett under that number. Officers’ and other ranks’ numbers run in separate series and can coincide, so this is not proof of an error — but the number should be confirmed against a primary source before it is relied on.
