Deeper background (2026): his LRDG (Rhodesia) battledress blouse and trousers survive. He was photographed wearing the same blouse on his wedding day in 1946, and the uniform is illustrated on page 150 of the book LRDG Rhodesia. The set was sold at a Dix, Noonan & Webb auction in London in 2004, from a long-established private collection. The dealer’s description gives his name, rank and unit but no service number, so this corroborates rather than confirms.
