ADDED TO THIS ROLL ON IAN CHARD’S CORRECTION OF 26 SEPTEMBER 2026. He was not on this roll until today. HIS PARENT UNIT IS THE SCOTS GUARDS, NOT THE COLDSTREAM. The sheet he comes from had him against the 3RD BATTALION, COLDSTREAM GUARDS; Ian corrects that to “2 Scots Guards”, the 2ND BATTALION, SCOTS GUARDS, and the field here carries the expansion with the abbreviation quoted as it was written so the reading can be checked. HIS JOINING DATE IS 13 MAY 1942, NOT 7 DECEMBER 1940. The earlier figure is the date a large draft of Guardsmen joined the Group, and it sits on a number of cards here; it is not his, and it has not been carried over. WHAT IS NOT CLAIMED, AND MUST NOT BE READ IN: no patrol, no rank and no trade is recorded for him, because none was supplied. Those fields are empty rather than filled in from what the other Scots Guardsmen on this roll happen to carry — an honest gap is worth more than a plausible invention. Recorded from Ian Chard, 26 September 2026, supplied by Tony Moore and entered on his instruction of the same day.
