What this roll records

Probable duplicate record: the roll carries both “Carlsson, Peter” and “Carlsson, J.V.K.”. The London Gazette twice gives the initials P.V.K. — Peter Victor Kenneth Carlsson, service no. 308563 — and the LRDG Preservation Society’s roster lists only one Carlsson. The form “J.V.K.”, which came from the IWM 1945 Association roll, is very likely a misreading of P.V.K. NOT MERGED: the evidence is inferential rather than a matched service number.
