POSSIBLE, NOT CONFIRMED (2026): an “L. R. H. Chapman” — Leslie Reginald Harry Chapman — is the author of “English Grammar and Exercises” (Longman, 1964), which would make a career as a teacher and textbook author after the war. The National Archives Discovery catalogue also holds an item indexed “Leslie Reginald Harry CHAPMAN — dob n/k” (C12046059), which could not be read. The triple given name matches the Gazette commission notice exactly, but nothing ties the author to this officer, so the identification is unproven.
