Commanded the five-man T2 patrol that watched from Seriphos for three weeks (1943), reporting the enemy’s Athens–Rhodes flying-boat airlift — intelligence that led to six being shot down — without once being observed. During the battle of Leros his patrol helped oppose the German paratroop landing.
