HIS MILITARY MEDAL, CONFIRMED AND DATED. London Gazette, 20 July 1943, Issue 36102, page 3317, under “The Military Medal.”, for gallant and distinguished services in the field: “No. 2662444 Guardsman Jack Crossley, Coldstream Guards.” That page carries SEVEN L.R.D.G. men in one block — Crossley, Lewis, Jackson, Gunn, Sturrock, Tighe and Ellis — which is a group award for a single action or period, and the densest piece of documentary evidence about the Group's gallantry found anywhere.
