Died 20 May 1996, aged 81. Prisoner of war: captured 25 October 1943 and held at Dulag VIII-A, Gorlitz; POW serial 35810. A freezing-works employee before the war; he met his Welsh wife while recuperating in England after captivity, and they farmed near Kawakawa, Bay of Islands.
