In T2 patrol at Marsa Brega (December 1941); in the rear truck, laid mines in the road potholes to prevent pursuit, causing about seven explosions. One of the eight New Zealanders stranded after the Nofilia air attack who trekked eight days to Augila. Awarded the MM.
