Online Cenotaph record found in August 2026 by searching the service number. A FARMER’S LABOURER in civilian life; he embarked as a Trooper with the 2nd N.Z. Divisional Cavalry Regiment (2NZEF Nominal Roll 4, p.132). HE DIED ON 9 DECEMBER 1961, AGED 51, and is buried in KIMBOLTON CEMETERY, Manawatu, Row I, Plot 22 — from a researcher’s 2019 contribution citing Manawatu District Council cemetery records, and carried in the Museum’s own death fields as well. The Museum also gives the forename as FREDERICK; both spellings appear on the record, so this is a variant rather than a correction and the Fredrick held here stands. His forename has been corrected from FREDRICK to FREDERICK, the spelling on his Auckland War Memorial Museum Online Cenotaph record. The roll’s form is kept in the AKA field.
The prefix NZ has been added to his service number, on the authority of the Auckland War Memorial Museum Online Cenotaph record already linked on this card — the Museum holds him as a New Zealand service person. The digits are unchanged. This roll formerly left the number unmarked, which made it look like a British number to anyone reading the field rather than the card.
