AGAINST: Harris and Harrison are two of the commonest surnames in the British Army, and a shared single initial between them is close to meaningless as evidence. The two entries have deliberately NOT been merged. They are recorded here so that the question is visible on both cards rather than buried in a research file, and so that anyone who can settle it — a family member, a nominal roll, a photograph caption — can see what is being asked.
