What this roll records
The regiment on this card read “Sumerset Yeomanry” and the spelling has been corrected to Somerset. Which Somerset regiment is not settled: his number, 328258, sits in the Yeomanry and Royal Armoured Corps block, and Daniel Davies #328233 — twenty-five numbers away, so almost certainly the same intake — is recorded as NORTH Somerset Yeomanry. The West Somerset Yeomanry was a separate regiment, so the fuller form has not been assumed here.
