Occupation before enlistment: truck driver. Enlisted 1943; embarked Private, Infantry Brigade, 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Source: 2NZEF Nominal Roll No. 11 (embarkations 1 April - 30 June 1943), p. 73, via the Online Cenotaph.

The surname on this card formerly carried a question mark — “Lamb ?” — a working mark recording that the spelling was uncertain, which was showing publicly as though it were part of his name. The mark has been removed and the doubt stated here instead: the spelling LAMB is not confirmed beyond the Troopers roll. He does carry a service number, #431104, so the question is a searchable one and is worth returning to.
