Lamont, Long Range Desert Group, 2nd N.Z.E.F., Middle East Forces”, posted from Palmerston North, 15 Dec 1941 (New Zealand 9d ‘Postage & Revenue’ stamp), marked ‘Opened by Censor in New Zealand’ and ‘Passed by Censor N.Z. 155’. The address gives his number as ~123-; matches Tpr James Lamont, NZ #1237. From the collection.
