Online Cenotaph record found and attached in August 2026, answering the request recorded on this card: the correct record is 119909. C140614, the link removed earlier, does belong to his brother Pate Larkin. The Museum spells the forename RANGI where this roll has Ranji, and the record gives his birth name as NGARANGI KAMAOHO TE AWE AWE, born 24 February 1915 at Rangiotu, with his iwi and hapu recorded as Ngati Kauwhata and Ngati Raukawa ki te Tonga, of Ngati Raukawa, Nga Iwi o Tainui. He was a labourer in civilian life and embarked as a Private with the 6th Anti-Tank Company, N.Z. Artillery, Third Echelon (2NZEF Nominal Roll 3, p.264), which differs from the 24 N.Z. Battalion recorded elsewhere on this card; both may be true at different dates. The forename has been left as it stands. The whakapapa above was contributed to the Museum by a relative in November 2022 from a baptism certificate, and is reproduced in the spelling the record uses.
