HIS MENTION IN DESPATCHES, DATED. London Gazette, 11 January 1944, Issue 36327, page 264: “Foot Guards. Gren. G'ds. 2618642 Corpl. G. A. Ollerenshaw.” The preamble on page 258 of that supplement approves the following “be Mentioned in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in the MIDDLE EAST”. (An Italy AWARDS list opens the same supplement at page 255 and should not be confused with it.) He was a CORPORAL at the time, where this card holds him as Company Sergeant Major.
