Worth noting that his number sits inside the 2NZEF range where every other man found in this sweep has fallen, so the number range is a reason to search rather than proof of nationality. Recorded so the search is not repeated.
North Africa — 17 Jan 1943, near Bu Ngem: prisoner of war. Temporarily attached to G Patrol; mistook two German armoured cars while assessing the going and was captured; escaped only days later.
