SERVICE NUMBER CORRECTED (2026). This card formerly carried a third number, 2695343, brought in as an “additional service number from the Rhodesia roll”. IT IS NOT HIS. 2695343 is a Scots Guards number and belongs to Robertson of G Patrol, whose card carries it as his only number: Robertson sits NINE NUMBERS from Findlay #2695334, both are G1, both are recorded as Guardsmen on the LRDG Nominal Roll of 28 December 1940 – January 1941, and both are on the Murzuk Raid roll. Two Scots Guardsmen nine numbers apart in the same patrol enlisted together. A Rhodesian rifleman of S Patrol did not. His own numbers, SR599032 and RH18000024, are unaffected.
Patrol S (S1/S2) INFERRED from Rhodesian/South African service number (SR/RH prefix) - the LRDG Rhodesian & S.African squadron formed S Patrol. Specific S1/S2 not individually confirmed.
Additional service number(s) from Rhodesia roll: RH18000024, 2695343. Source: Rhodesia Nominal Roll (Brendan O’Carroll).
