Joined Oct 1941 (Capt., M.C., R. Warwickshire Regt). P.O.W. Jan 1942. LRDG Unit Casualty Returns (A.F. 3010), Appendix 3 officers list (source: Brendan O'Carroll).

PATROL COMMANDER of Y1 per W.B. Kennedy Shaw, "Long Range Desert Group", Appendix 4 Patrol Commanders.

Checked (2026): The Auckland War Memorial Museum Online Cenotaph holds twenty-two men named Simms and none is a Frank or carries 40719. The alternative spelling Sims was checked as well and returns three men, none of them his. Recorded so the search is not repeated.
