The discarded spelling, “Struggles”, is the surname whose query mark was cleared earlier in 2026; this merge is very probably the answer to the doubt that mark recorded. Merged from: “Struggles, P.”.

The surname on this card formerly read “Struggles (?)” — a working mark recording that the spelling was uncertain, which was showing publicly as though it were part of his name. The mark has been removed and the doubt stated here instead: STRUGGLES is an unusual surname and is not confirmed by any source beyond the Troopers roll. He carries no service number, so there is nothing to search on but the name.
