DUPLICATE RECORD MERGED. The roll carried this man twice. The second entry held the surname in a corrupted form, “Stormouh-Darling A”, with a stray initial swept into the surname field, and it carried the service number 667292, which this card previously lacked. The photograph of him in the collection is captioned “Stormonth-Darling, Moir P.”, which together with the merged entry gives two independent supports for the forenames Moir Patrick against the initials N.P. recorded here; the initials are left as they stand and the doubt is recorded. Merged from: “Stormouh-Darling A, Moir Patrick”.
Also recorded as 'Stormonth-Darling, Moir P.' (spelling/initial variant); merged as the same man, IWM 1945 record ('N.P.') kept. Photograph carried across; correct forename to verify.
