HIS NAME, AND A DISAGREEMENT THAT IS NOT HIDDEN. This card now reads “Lawrence Herbert Thompson” on the authority of the Imperial War Museums Sound Archive, which catalogues his oral history under that name, catalogue 20495, and took it from the man himself. UNTIL 5 SEPTEMBER 2026 THIS ROLL CARRIED HIM AS “Lawrence (S) Thompson”, and the source of that reading is not known here. The two do not agree and only one can be right, so the older reading is recorded rather than erased. Changed at Tony Moore’s direction.
